Fresh figs, found in-season in mid- to late-summer, make this easy breakfast extra special, but you can prepare this recipe year-round with dried figs. The creaminess of the mascarpone pairs nicely with the balanced sweetness of figs.

Ingredients

  • 6 fresh figs
  • 4 slices cinnamon toast
  • 1/4 cup mascarpone
  • 2 tsp honey

Directions

  • Step 1

    Slice figs lengthwise into 3 to 4 pieces each or cut into quarters.

  • Step 2

    Lightly toast cinnamon bread.

  • Step 3

    Spread 1 tablespoon of mascarpone on each slice of bread.

  • Step 4

    Place 4 to 5 fig pieces on top of the layer of mascarpone

  • Step 5

    Drizzle about 1/2 teaspoon of honey over the top of the fig toast.
